There are 4 facets to Bodytuning

Spiritual hands-on healing
Tuning Forks
Overtone Chanting
Tibetan Singing Bowls

Healing works simultaneously on all levels: mental, emotional, physical and spiritual. Using the hands to feel for vibrational changes in the body, the healer can detect and put to rights areas of the body which are in dis-harmony. As a result of this healing-touch, pain, whether emotional or physical, may be dramatically reduced or may be removed permanently. Certainly, many clients have noticed Spiritual Healing to be profound and deeply beneficial, especially when combined with sound.

Overtone chanting sounds strange at first. A continuous low drone is vocalised which simultaneously emits an extremely high-pitched tone over the top of the drone. Overtone chanting has been used for thousands of years by spiritual masters or 'yogis' to facilitate deeper states of consciousness. It has recently been proved to have profoundly beneficial effects in stimulating the body's immune system and in speeding up healing, at the cellular level. The chanting has also been used in burns units of hospitals as it can speed recovery from burns and skin lesions. The high pitch of the Overtone works rather like ultrasound causing tissue to repair on a deep level.

To find out more about the effects of Overtone Chanting on healing, read the fascinating article by Jonathan Goldman called: 'Power of Harmonics and Chanting - an interview with Jonathan Goldman by Sita Murti' on Jonathan's website.

Special Tuning Forks are also used in conjunction with the chanting and the healing. They work in a similar 'ultrasonic' way to the Overtone Chanting and are used to repair diseased tissue, (which emits distorted vibrations). For example, one of the forks most commonly activated in Bodytuning is the MI 528 Hz fork which is also used by bio-chemists in the repair of DNA. Sound can and does heal! For this reason, Bodytuning is extremely powerful.

Spiritual healing when combined with Overtone chanting and Tuning Fork frequencies have an intense and profound effect upon the body and mind, tripling up the effectiveness of all three treatments.

Tibetan Singing Bowls have long been used as a system of sacred healing. They are comprised of 7 precious metals, including gold, which produces a beautiful and resonant long-lasting sound.

The client is simply asked to lie with eyes closed and listen to the sounds of the bowls as they are being played, and to focus their attention on the 'decaying' sound of the bowls. This helps them to be truly 'present', enabling them to let go of any 'baggage' they may have been carrying before the start of the session, and to relax into a deeper state of consciousness, in readiness for the Healing.

What does the Bodytuner do?

The task for the BodyTuner is to give the body a complete tune-up and put it back into balance, so that healing can take place. The specific method for achieving this is through Spiritual Healing combined with Overtone Chanting and the use of special Tuning Forks.

What happens in a typical 'bodytuning' session?

Patients are asked to lie down on a deeply padded massage bed. Then they are asked to close their eyes whilst Tibetan Singing Bowls are played for approx. 5 mins. These are sacred bowls made of 7 precious metals including gold, that produce an exceptionally resonant sound, and induce feelings of deep relaxation.

This is followed by the patient being gently rocked for a while. Rocking releases endorphins, the brain's own natural pain-killing chemicals, which creates a feeling of safety and well-being, (which is why babies are rocked - because it's deeply soothing, and adults respond in exactly the same way.)

Then the arms and legs are gently stretched.

The purpose of all the rocking and stretching is to slow down the mind by loosening the tensions from the body so that Bodytuning treatment can be deeply absorbed into the receiver, unhindered by an overactive mind.

The end of the Bodytuning session

The Bodytuning session ends with the largest Singing Bowl being played mainly over the head of the patient and also over the entire body whilst they are still reclined. The bowl is played with a beater encircling the rim of the bowl to produce extended overtones, which is used to enable deeper states of consciousness and relaxation. This wonderful sound completes the healing and everyone loves to hear it. This is a truly beautiful sound and promotes a glorious feeling of 'coming home' and peace from within, which is a wonderfully relaxing way to end the session, whilst cleansing the auric field around the body.
